For 25 years, Link Digital has been a cornerstone of Canberra's GovTech sector, establishing itself as a leader in open data solutions. Recognised globally for our expertise and leadership within the CKAN community, our work is consistently focused on creating meaningful change with data. Today, our continuing investment in civic tech seeks to address one of the most critical elements of cybersecurity: trust.
From early 2025 Link Digital has been pioneering new approaches in social and technical engineering to establish high-trust platforms that support social cohesion via through two core tracks:
opendata.ly (The Social Track): This platform serves as a hub for building the social agreements and community frameworks necessary for a trusted digital commons. It is an environment for the "social engineering" required to foster a culture of verifiable honesty.
opendata.ai (The Technical Track): This represents the technical foundation for a globally decentralised platform designed to provide "verifiable honesty within an agreement based web of possibilities". It is engineered to create the conditions where trust is an emergent property of the system itself.
R&D efforts are grounded in fundamental research that connects information theory to the physical world. Our approach applies principles such as the scale invariance of complex informational systems to expand trust-based networks from first principles. By integrating concepts from quantum information theory and computation, we are working to engineer informational systems that are intrinsically secure and trustworthy.
